UIM's Second Annual Peace Symposium Sept. 10-11 "Celebrating Oneness"

This Friday UIM kicks off its Second Annual Peace Symposium “Celebrating Oneness” with a special movie screening of For the Next 7 Generations at 7:00pm in the Sanctuary.  In 2004, 13 Indigenous Grandmothers from all four corners of the earth, moved by their concern for our planet, came together at an historic gathering, where they decided to form an alliance – the movie tells their story.

On Saturday, there’s an awesome lineup of guest speakers and our Kids Peace Kamp from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Keynote Speaker Patricia Sun speaks from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. You can still register at www.unityinmarin.org/pan. For more information, please contact Symposium Director Lisa Pasquinelli drlpasquinelli@yahoo.com.

Midweek Update

Thank you to everyone who welcomed me back to Unity In Marin on Sunday. I certainly felt the love! Thanks again to the Unity In Marin Board and the Ministry Team leaders for doing such a wonderful job leading the congregation during my sabbatical.

I am working every day to Trust with the same willingness as 5yr old Hazel modeled in the pool. She didn’t know how to swim. She let go of the edge of the pool and paddled toward me with enthusiasm. I was in the deep end of the pool. She reached out to me with her hands, totally expecting me to take her hands and keep her afloat. There was no question in her mind or in her eyes that she would not be supported. I reached out and kept her afloat. She giggled with joy.

When we are in the deep end of the pool of life, lets reach out knowing Spirit will support us. Even as adults we are allowed to giggle with joy, finding ourselves supported. After all, Jesus tells us, to enter the kingdom of heaven we must first become like children. Lets jump in the pool, the water is fine.

This Coming Sunday:

This coming Sunday, I will be talking on the subject of Peace. What is your definition of peace? Is it simply lack of external conflict? Lets explore this topic together. The title of my talk is “Peace of Mind.” To me, there is no greater objective in life than to be peaceful, regardless of circumstances.

Remember this Saturday 9-11-10 we will kick off our 2nd annual Peace Symposium. Check out the website for details. I look forward to seeing you all there.
