Midweek Update

This last Sunday I shared on the topic of unconditional giving. My uncle Wally was a man who gave unconditionally on more than one occasion. Although he made his transition years ago he lives on in my consciousness whenever I think of how he gave with no strings attached.  I often think about him and also about this Bible quote.

The one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

2 Cor 9: 6-7

Have we made up our minds to be more generous? If so then lets make sure we give as we have made up our mind. Lets give without fear and without compulsion. Charles Fillmore said it very well when he stated the law of giving and receiving like this:

We are striving to educate the people on this question of giving and receiving and to let their own experience prove to them that there is a divine law of equilibrium in financial matters that corresponds to the law of balance and poise that holds the sun and the planets in space.

Prosperity – Charles Fillmore

It’s a privilege to give never a burden!

Happy Thanksgiving.

                                                                                                                           Blessings,

                                                                                                                                Rev. Bill

P.S. 2009 Faith in Action Pledge Program update. As of Monday Nov. 24th, we have

159 people pledging $303,135 of our $500,000 goal. Pledge cards are available in the office or in the seatbacks on Sunday. I encourage you to give in proportion to what you are receiving at Unity In Marin.

Coming this Sunday

This Sunday our Very own Jeff Perry will be our guest speaker. The talk title is “Healing Intention.” Jeff’s story of recovery is incredibly inspiring. At one point about 5 years ago he was sent home from the hospital to die. Within months he recovered from that illness and got married. You can read his story in the december edition of Daily Word. His story will be read this coming month by around a million people! We get to hear it in person. FYI, Jeff and his wife Catherine are relocating out of the area so this is probably the last time you’ll get to see and hear Jeff in person as a regular community member. I am sure he has more to share than is in the Daily Word article that will be enlightening for one and all.

Do you have a friend or family member facing an illness right now? If so you should bring them on Sunday to hear this truly inspirational story of healing.
