Music at Unity In Marin

As Unity In Marin welcomes people of many faiths and traditions, we endeavor to inspire hearts and transform lives through a rich and varied Music Ministry. From classical, jazz, gospel, and folk, to Sufi chant, singing bowls, and African drums, the Music at Unity In Marin resonates at some level with all who come through our doors.

Any given Sunday promises professional quality performances presented by nationally acclaimed soloists, award-winning guest artists, and a superb line-up of musicians from within Unity In Marin's gifted congregation and stellar choir

Music Calendar

September 14: The Youth of Unity In Marin provide everything from the ushers to the music for this special youth service.

September 21:  Dominion and the Unity In Marin Choir under the direction of Carmen Marie Coleman.  Prepare to be wowed by this dynamic Gospel Sunday and kick-off service to our Seven Week Book Study:  "A Blessing In Disguise."  Learn more about Dominion and their incredible director Valerie L. October 5:  Deborah Winters accompainied by Ed Bogas.  Deborah is more a member of the family than a guest artist as she continues to bless this community with her orginal music, beautiful voice and loving presentation.  Visit her at www.deborahwinters.net.

October 12:  Desiree Goyette and Ed Bogas continue to serve the seven-week theme.  Desiree will also present the message!

October 19:  "A Blessing In Disguise" series continues. Guest artist to be announced.

Music Ministry Team

Unity In Marin is blessed to be located in the Bay Area. We can draw upon some of the best musical and other creative talent in the world to be on our team or to be guest musicians. The extra special blessing is that most of this talent is solidly grounded in their spiritual lives and embrace the Unity teachings.

Désirée Goyette, Director

Désirée Goyette, Music Director, is a Grammy nominated songwriter and performer. She provides the leadership to both build and lead the team; and to attract outstanding guest musicians. Unity Voices

Carolyn Gauthier, Director of The Unity Voices, has a wide range of talents including producer, writer, singer, and she plays a pretty mean guitar.

Carolyn is also a Sunday Worship Assistant and supports an outreach music ministry through her significant role in Bread and Roses. Bread & Roses is dedicated to uplifting the human spirit by providing free, live, quality entertainment to people who live in institutions or are otherwise isolated from society.

Choir

Carmen Marie Coleman, Choir Director, has a magical way with building and directing a choir. Her special gift is taking people who say, “I don't know how to sing, but I would love to try;” and drawing out their heretofore hidden God-given talent. Carmen is also a marvelous singer and is a member of The Praise Team.

Andrew Klein, Pianist

Andrew Klein, Pianist, is an accomplished, versatile performer. He has the rare gift to be an outstanding soloist as well as having the stylistic flexibility to enhance and not overwhelm the musicians he is accompanying.
